MEET THE TEAM
DARCY FAWCETT
Sound Data was founded and is led by Darcy Fawcett. Darcy is passionate about improving teaching and learning. He has a vast range of experience teaching physics, mathematics, and general science and has been Head of Physics in England and a Head of Science and an Across-Community Teacher in New Zealand. His Master of Arts in Science Education and thesis were both awarded with Distinction by King’s College London in 2006. In 2017 he was awarded a Woolfe Fisher Teaching Fellowship for excellence in educational leadership and ‘in-school’ practice. In 2018 he won one of the inaugural Bright Spots Awards for “It worked!” – the data analysis and coaching methodology he has developed. Darcy continues to dedicate his career and PhD research to supporting teachers to develop their practice and hence improve outcomes for all students.
Darcy is also a Professional Learning and Development (PLD) facilitator with Learning Leaders Limited and his education sector professional development work can be funded through the Regionally Allocated Professional Learning and Development Fund.
